NMIRA GOALS
NMIRA establishes yearly goals in order to realize our mission of promoting literacy and the life-long love of reading. Goals fuel NMIRA's determination and long-term commitment to the application of action to our philosophy. They keep the association and its members moving in a clear and focused direction and give us unity of purpose, strengthening our belief in our association and its ability to effect change.
Goals 2010 - 2011
To strengthen communication among individuals, councils
and districts within the state
To advocate for literacy by promoting intellectual freedom
To broaden partnerships with other professional groups
To promote a culturally diverse membership
To provide professional development opportunities
To strengthen the parents' role in promoting literacy
To provide opportunities and financial support
for the development of leadership in NMIRA
To provide leadership and support for local councils
